Vice Minister Yu Xinrong Meets Austrian Federal Vice Minister and Secretary-general of Sustainability and Tourism Planck

On July 26, Vice Minister Yu Xinrong met with Joseph Planck, Austrian Federal Vice Minister and Secretary-General of Sustainability and Tourism in Vienna, Austria. They exchanged in-depth views on promoting bilateral agricultural cooperation.

Yu expressed that China-Austria agricultural cooperation had a sound foundation and bilateral trade in agricultural products has experienced a rapid development in recent years. The Chinese side was willing to make joint efforts with Austria by further building bilateral consensus on organic agricultural cooperation with organic tea production as a pointcut and expanding cooperation in areas of rural development and quality and safety of agricultural products in order to promote in-depth development of China-Austria agricultural cooperation. Yu also invited the Austrian side to participate in the China International Agricultural Trade Fair to be held in Changsha in November this year.

Mr. Planck agreed with Yu on his proposals for strengthening bilateral agricultural cooperation and expressed the willingness to collaborate with China and further promote pragmatic cooperation in the areas of organic agriculture and trade in agricultural products in pursuit of upgrading bilateral agricultural cooperation.

At the invitation of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism, Yu led a delegation to visit Austria from July 24 to 26. During his visit in Austria, Yu also held a talk with representatives from the Federal Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism and the Federal Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection on organic agriculture management and made a study tour on development of organic agriculture in Austria.
